This month's selection is Between, Georgia by Joshilyn Jackson.
"One of this decade's most commendable novels. Every now and then a remarkable writer, following in the footsteps of great authors, comes along to reenergize American fiction. So it is with Joshilyn Jackson. ...overflows with gut-wrenching sadness and laugh-out-loud humor. Jackson's novel brilliantly explores abstractions - redemption, love and grace - through the most compelling characterizations to be found in contemporary fiction. Between, Georgia is an exemplary novel by a singular writer who is in full command of the art of story telling. Don't miss it!" – Bookpage

Join scholar Donna Decker of Franklin Pierce University, for a discussion of A Great Deliverance by Elizabeth George. This program, sponsored by the New Hampshire Humanities Council, focuses on George's debut novel. In this detective story/psychological thriller, a mismatched pair of Scotland Yard detectives, representing the upper and lower classes of British society, do not believe that the apparent perpetrator of a savage crime is guilty, in spite of her first and last words, "I did it. And I'm not sorry." The truth will be found in the village's tangled web of secrets, scandals, and horrendous crimes.
Books will be available a month before the program. Please join us!

Scholar Matthew Winkler of Granite State College will lead a discussion of St. Alban's Fire by Archer Mayor.
Introspective and deliberate in his methods, Lt. Joe Gunther, the Vermont author's police hero, finds himself investigating numerous suspicious fires that have occurred around Burlington, VT which have resulted in the deaths of one teenager and a herd of dairy cows. Are the fires coincidental or the work of a clever arsonist? The trail takes Gunther to Newark, NH where he encounters resistance from local law enforcement. The fast-paced plot will keep readers guessing to the end!
This book discussion is sponsored by the New Hampshire Humanities Council.
