Look Who's Using Facebook
Not Just for Teens

Facebook gives people the power to share and makes the world more open and connected.

Millions of people use Facebook everyday to keep up with friends, upload an unlimited number of photos, share links and videos, and learn more about the people they meet.

College students, moms and dads, librarians, teachers...the list goes on.  It's
incredible how many people are using Facebook to keep in touch.

Barbara, the Children's Librarian, has a Facebook page and is now using it to keep in touch with Teens and junior book clubs.  Parents who are not ready for their teens to be on Facebook can try it for themselves.  Once you are ready, be sure your teen becomes your friend on Facebook and be aware of what content they are letting the whole world see.

Going to college?
Need to apply for financial aid?

If you are heading to college, you will probably be filing for financial aid. Most financial aid is based on the FAFSA, the Federal Financial Aid form. Most students file online and using the FAFSA on the Web Pre-Application Worksheet makes it easier!

The number of FAFSAs filed electronically has increased dramatically. More than 80 percent of all FAFSAs are filed online. In the past many filers used a paper copy of the FAFSA obtained at the library to prepare to file, but there's a better way. The FAFSA on the Web Pre-Application Worksheet was developed to simplify your preparations, with instuctions and an easy to follow layout. To print the Worksheet go to www.fafsa.ed.gov. For those who prefer to file a paper FAFSA, the forms will arrive at the library in early November.
